• Digidown Base Box

Data collected from digital tachographs and tachograph cards using a Digidown Blue unit can be uploaded via Bluetooth, either through a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone or via the dedicated Digidown Base box.

Digidown Base Box

The Digidown Base box is very simple to use. The Digidown Base box itself is mounted somewhere convenient overlooking either the place where the Digidown Blue unit will be used or overlooking the place where the Digidown Blue unit is stored. This mounting can be at any elevated point, indoors or outdoors. The unit is then connected to a spare USB port on a convenient PC.

The unit is supplied with a 10m long cable. This can be extended to 50m using standard CAT5 network cable.

The unit is used with a small Windows software application (suitable for Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7) which runs on the associated PC. This software runs continuously, scanning for Digidown Blue units with data to be uploaded. When a Digidown Blue unit is recognised the Digidown Base box makes an automatic connection to the Digidown Blue unit and the data is uploaded automatically. Once uploaded successfully, the data on the Digidown Blue memory card is marked as having been uploaded so it will not be uploaded next time. However the data is retained on the memory card in case it should be needed in the future.

The scanning software can be set to accept data from any Digidown Blue unit or only from specified units. The system totally ignores any other Bluetooth devices in the area.
