CPC Nat & International
To run vehicles over 3.5 Tonnes gvw for hire and reward a standard Operator’s Licence will need to be obtained. One of the prerequisites for this is that there must be a Professionally Competent Person who has effective control of the vehicles. The Certificate of Professional Competence proves professional competence.
There are two Certificates a standard national or an International certificate for those wishing to operate abroad as well as the UK.
OCR is the awarding body for the qualification and Corridans is an approved OCR Examination Centre. The exams sessions are set by OCR every year in March, June, September and December. The exams themselves are modularised as follows,
Road Transport Qualifications
Modules 1, 2 & 4 making up the National Road Haulage Qualification.
Addition of module 6 makes up the International Road Haulage Qualification.
These courses are run as a two week intensive course for the National and a one week intensive course for the International, with a full course manual provided. Included on the last day of both courses is an invaluable exam preparation day.
Corridans is also able to provide a home study option catered to the needs of the individual please contact for more information.
Road Passenger Qualifications
Modules 1, 3 & 4 make up the National Passenger Transport Qualification.
Candidates attend the first part of the national road haulage course the rest is home study with tutorial support.
Addition of module 7 makes up the International Passenger Transport Qualification.
This is a home study course.
Additional Note for International Candidates
Please note OCR took the decision a number of years ago when the format of the qualification changed significantly to include the case study papers that those who obtained their CPC National before October 1999 can no longer upgrade to an international by the normal route of sitting Module 6 or 7 alone. They must instead take the full examinations
